Soooo, I went to Balboa Park in Van Nuys last weekend in my mother's Kimono.
This kimono means a lot to me because it was something my grandfather got it custom made for my mother for her "Coming of Age Ceremony". He got a bulk of plain white silk and had it dyed very light minty green with poppy red+white chrysanthemum flowers (my mom's favorite flower! I'm gonna make her a huge chrysanthemum garden one day!!!). The sleeves are called "oofurisode" and it's longer than the usual sleeves for furisode kimonos :D
Honestly, I didn't like this kimono at first. Just something about the design didn't really catch my attention, and I was kinda disappointed that my mother was making me wear this kimono instead of the black one I bought over the summer. But in the end, I really really really love this kimono to pieces now. The black Kimono can wait :3

Pros : Great location, got to hang out with people, and uhh yea, all that good stuff
Cons: Got the shoulder of the kimono dirty ;_; My mother was so devastated when she saw the stain when I got home. We sent it to the cleaners in Japan a.s.a.p. though. It's gonna be expensive..oh well.

Then we checked the tea pot and realized that Yuni put like 10 times more tea leaf in there than you're supposed to = death. The tea was so bitter it tasted like concrete. But we both drank it all 8D

I'm going to be cosplaying Majoko with

chiidesu as Hime at the Valentine's day gathiering next weekend (if we finiiiishhhh). Theres a ton of characters and many are ...well, uh, closet cosplay or whatever you call it. The day after Jcon was Santa Monica with David, Thalia and Joey. This weekend was pretty much ALA part 2 for me. Wooooot!
We met up with Karla, Lauren, Susan, Trevor, Eve, Yvonne at the pier where ~~Joey and I~~ WE ALL went on a crazy bubble popping rampage. That was pretty fun.Oh , and as we were walking down the beach we saw people playing ultimate frisbee and THALIA was so awesome enough to remember that Joey's brother mentioned being up in Santa Monica for a tournament/game/ whatever thing that weekend. AAAANd we found him and that was cool. Left after a while he started playing because we didn't want him to feel embarrassed (his team was losing, :<)

Ahaha, this is the last thing the corpse saw....
